“I had to wait
half an hour - why?”
We never know what kind of problem
is going to come through our surgery
door. Some can take a lot of sorting
out and require longer than the
allotted time. Remember that we
would give that time to you if you
needed it. Please be patient with
others.
“I never see the doctor on my
medical card - why?”
The philosophy of our practice is
that the partners work as a team
rather than as individual doctors
with separate lists of patients.
Indeed, they meet regularly to
discuss patients they have seen and
all test results and letters from
hospital specialists are read by all
the doctors. However, we do not mind
if you wish to see just one doctor
and would encourage you to do so for
a continuing problem, that is
entirely up to you. We are happy for
you to see any doctor you wish
subject to an available appointment.
Any of the partners can be “your
doctor” irrespective of the doctor
on your medical card.
“She made me come to the
Surgery - why?”
With modern transport it is possible
for most people to come to the
surgery, even children with
temperatures who we can arrange to
see on arrival. A far greater number
of patients can be given quick
attention in this way using the far
better equipment available at the
surgery.
“I can never get through… the
telephone is always engaged… or they
won’t answer the telephone - why?”
However many telephone lines we
have, however many receptionists,
there will never be enough for the
busiest times of the week and we
cannot always tell when those
busiest times will be!
“I came for my appointment but my
doctor had to go before he saw me -
why?”
This should be a rare occurrence.
Occasionally your doctor may get
called to an emergency during
surgery times. If you cannot wait we
will try to fit you in with another
doctor who is present.
